Adult FriendFinder: explicit, huge, handle with care.

What is Adult FriendFinder?

Adult FriendFinder, or AFF, has been around since 1996, which makes it one of the oldest hookup sites online. It’s run by FriendFinder Networks in California, and it’s completely explicit: profiles, photos and chat are all about sex.

It’s for singles, couples, groups and trans members, and there’s more than profiles: member cams, chat rooms, forums, blogs and a magazine.

How AFF works

Sign up with an email address, say who you are and who you’re looking for, and write a short intro. Then browse and search, with filters for just about every preference.

There’s no official app, only the website. Apps in the stores that use the name aren’t official, so skip them.

What’s free and what isn’t

Joining, browsing and the community pages are free. Messaging is where it gets expensive: it’s mostly for paid members, and extras use points.

Read the billing terms before you pay. Membership renews automatically until you turn it off, refunds are very limited, and inactive accounts can lose points.

The red flags

AFF’s own homepage says people in the photos may not be actual members, and its terms describe AI chat features. Reviews are full of complaints about fake profiles and scams: it scores about 1 out of 5 on Trustpilot.

Then there’s privacy. In 2016, a breach exposed around 412 million accounts across FriendFinder Networks’ sites, including AFF, many with weak or unencrypted passwords. Use a separate email address and a password you don’t use anywhere else.
